How to Make Navara Puttu (Traditional Method):
Ingredients:

1 cup Navara Puttu Podi

Water (as needed)

Salt to taste

Grated coconut (for layering)
Instructions:

Moisten the Flour:
In a mixing bowl, add 1 cup Navara Puttu Podi with a pinch of salt. Sprinkle warm water slowly while mixing by hand until the flour becomes crumbly and moist. Let it rest for 5–10 minutes. -
Layer & Steam:
In a puttu kutti or steamer, layer 1 tablespoon grated coconut at the bottom, followed by 2–3 tablespoons of the moistened flour. Repeat layers until filled. -
Steam to Perfection:
Steam for 6–8 minutes, or until the puttu is soft, fluffy, and aromatic. -
Serve Warm:
Best served with banana, ghee, jaggery, or Ayurvedic herbal side dishes like moong dal curry.
